Fun with Cousins

Time's Flyin'

Sorry for the long absence. We have been at my parent's house for the past week visiting with family that were in town from Florida. Layla, Julius and Gunnar get pretty spoiled every summer getting to play a ton with their cousins. I've been trying to catch up on laundry and I managed to get the fridge restocked. This humid heat is killing us! I was not using my brain when I did my grocery shopping. All the meat and vegetables I purchased need to be cooked either in the oven, crockpot or stove-top. My dryer is heating the house up enough, so while he was out running errands, Nate was kind enough to grab some salad, vegetables and shrimp that required no cooking for tonight's dinner. And of course ice cream was a nice cool completion to our "serve cold" meal. I got lots of pics of our trip to Houghton Lake and other things we have done the past few weeks. Stay tuned. I promise to not be gone too long this time!

Transformers 3

We had the privilege of seeing some of the sets of Transformers 3 while in Chicago. Nate couldn't resist picking up one of the foam boulders. He obviously ignored the yellow tape!

Huge Buildings

The kids could not get over the "huge" buildings.
My favorite was the Trump tower. It was not there eleven years ago
when I spent a semester in Chicago. I think it is just beautiful!

Ann Arbor Art Fair

In the insanity of last week, we managed to cram in a visit to the Ann Arbor Art Fair right in between visiting with out of town friends, going to see our other friends' new baby and heading out of town for a weekend in Chicago. Our lives are usually rather boring, but not last week!

Nate's aunt Julia had a booth at the fair. Head on over to her website, Julia's Paintings, to see her fabulous work. She also has a blog, Time to Paint, where you can stay up to date on her local shows and art activities. Love her work!

We all really enjoyed the one-man band. Not quite as spunky as, Bert, from Mary Poppins, but quality entertainment! The kids loved dancing to rock band that was playing and they really enjoyed the corn dogs. Layla and Julius entertained their fair share of people as they jumped, twisted, shook and danced around. Those kids have no shame.
